Most of us have heard that fish oil is good for us. It contains Omega-3 fatty acids that our bodies need but can’t produce: ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), EPA (eicosa-pentaenoic acid), and DHA (docosa-hexaenoic acid). ALA is converted to EPA and DHA in the body. Since they cannot be produced by the body, they need to be obtained through the consumption of foods or supplements.
